The Sooknarine Family

At fifty-eight years of age, Harry Sooknarine sought to involve his children in the business, his son Jeff, was the Managing Director. Roger Sooknarine was the Marketing Manager of Harricrete Ltd. Kendrick, who was the Financial Director, was the only University (Theology) graduated member of the family.
Harry started a business his daughter, Lenore, she retails jewellery and gifts. She was also a director in the Company. Harry's other son Victor, is at present Chairman of the Boards and Managing Director of Companies, having pursued his MBA.
Harry Sooknarine inculcate in his children the same entrepreneurial ambition and skill that he possessed. In fact, he has restricted the expansion of the business to allow his children to gain experience and to grow entrepreneurs.
In 1985, Harry was allowed the privilege of touring the state enterprise facility, Trinidad and Tobago Printing and Packaging Limited (TTPP). This experience generated an interest in Harry and when in 1990 Government indicated that it planned to divest the assets or shares of TTPP. The subject again arose in August 1992 with the change in Government. His bid was accepted on September of that year and Harry who obtained possession of the plant on December 15, 1992. In January 1993, Harry merged Cariflex with TTPP and the entire operation at Kelly Village was relocated at TTPP at O'Meara Road, Arima.
At the time of his passing, Harry had 13 Grand Children and 5 Great Grands. Almost 1 year after his passing, he left the Companies a success and still expanding towards Global opportunities.
